| Family Advocacy Program (FAP) |
| ---------------------------------------------------------- |
|
The Family Advocacy Program (FAP) is a congressionally mandated program intended to prevent and reduce the incidence of family violence, helping to create an environment of intolerance for such behavior. Educational services that focus on prevention are provided in order to circumvent family violence in families assigned to Quantico MCB.
FAP services focus on providing assessment, intervention, and treatment
of spouse and child abuse/neglect. Our goal is to prevent family violence by addressing risk factors, the underlying causes of abuse, and the effects of violence on both adults and child victims.
The intent of FAP is to help ensure that victims of domestic violence are safe from future abuse by providing them with the services that can assist them with problems that they may be facing. FAP case management includes: risk assessment, safety planning, determination of intervention and treatment, with the safety and well-being of victims being the main concern of the clinical provider.
The following treatment services and resources are available within FAP: Clinical Assessments, Clinical Referrals, Domestic Violence Group for Men, Command Consultation, Crisis Intervention, and Victim Advocacy.
The components of Victim Advocacy are as follows:
- Support and advocacy for victims of spouse abuse, rape, and sexual assault
- Legal and medical assistance
- 24-Hour Crisis Intervention
- Safety Planning
- Women's Education
- Support Group
- Information & Referral
- Court Advocacy
- Home Visitation
- Transitional Compensation
