| New Parent Support Program -NPSP- |
| ---------------------------------------------------------- |
|
The New Parent Support Program (NPSP) is a
professional team of nurses and social workers
who provide supportive and caring services to
military families. Through a variety of programs
such as home visits, support groups and parenting
classes, NPSP can help families cope with stress,
isolation, deployment/post-deployment issues, and improve parenting skills. Even if you have been raising your family for a few years, challenges always arise and NPSP offers you the opportunity to express your concerns and ask questions about babies, young children, family relationships and parenting skills. Contacting us is easy! Just call New Parent Support Program at 703.784.4248 (Quantico) or 703.614.7208 (Henderson Hall).

| What is Home Visitation? |
| ---------------------------------------------------------- |
The New Parent Support Program has experienced and licensed nurses or social workers who provide home visitation. The purpose of the visit is to provide parenting education and support to you on an individual basis. The visits can take place in your home or in the NPSP offices located in Little Hall. The frequency of visits is usually once a week, every two weeks, or once a month - all according to your needs and interests.
The home visitor assigned to provide services can offer a listing of educational topics, including discipline, sibling rivalry, communication with your children, stress management tips, development screenings, toilet training, nutrition, SIDS prevention, deployment issues and much, much more. Some people receive parenting education, while others request support and encouragement regarding the challenges of parenting. |
