Relocation Assistance Program -RAP-

The Relocation Assistance Program (RAP) provides base newcomes and personnel departing for new duty stations with base "Welcome Aboard" briefs, relocation workshops, and extensive information on most duty stations worlwide. Sponsorship training and coordination is provided, and household items such as dishes, cookware, futons, porta-cribs, high chairs, and car seats are available for short-term loan
from the Loan Locker.

In accordance with MCBO 1320.3A, the Relocation Assistance Program office urges you to take the following actions to make your PCS relocation as trouble-free as possible:
  • Sponsorship Training: Sponsorship is mandatory for all relocating personnel E1-E6, 01-03, W01-CW02.

  • Attend the mandatory SMOOTH MOVE or PCS OVERSEAS relocation workshop. These are information-packed, half-day workshops providing information from TMO, Disbursing, Housing and the Relocation staff. It is recommended that both Active Duty member and spouse attend whenever possible. Plan to come 2-3 months prior to the PCS date.
 
Family Care Plan

A Family Care Plan (FCP) as defined in MCO 1740.13A, is the responsibility of Marines who are single parents, dual military couples, Marines who bear sole responsibility of the care of minor children or Marines with family members who are unable to care for themselves during the Marine’s absence. Contact the RAP Office for additional information on how to prepare a Family Care Plan.

Sponsorship Training

This training is designed to help all sponsors in the performance of their duties. We provide helpful hints, checklists, and an overview of sponsorship duties, resources and handouts. This one and a half hour training can help eliminate commonly overlooked items that are essential to the newcomer. Our job is to make your job easier. Spouses assisting with an accompanied tour sponsorship are also encouraged to attend. For further information and / or class registration, call the RAP Office at 703.784.4961/4962.

NOTE: SPONSORSHIP TRAINING IS MANDATORY IN ACCORDANCE WITH MCBO
           1320.3A. ALL ASSIGNED MILITARY SPONSORS ARE REQUIRED TO ATTEND

Class is scheduled each month and is also available to requesting units. Sessions are held at the Community Support Center (Little Hall, Lower Level), Room #60, Thursday, 0900-1030:

Workshops

The Commander's Welcome Aboard Brief is held on Wednesday, from 0930-1130, in Ballroom 1 & 2, The Clubs At Quantico (TCAQ). It is designed to inform newcomers about programs and services aboard Quantico, and includes information on recreation, education, medical services, local legal issues, safety issues, chapel programs, etc. Please be seated by 0925.

Dates 2008:  2 April, 7 May, 4 June, 2 July, 6 August,
                      3 September, 1 October, 5 November, 3 December.

SPOUSES ARE ENCOURAGED TO ATTEND WITH YOU! Discount child care drop-in rates are available at the Child Development Center. Contact CDC at 703.784.4322 for child care reservations.
