The MCCS Employee Development Department shares the Directorate's philosophy of fostering a work environment that allows members to reach their potential and dedicate themselves in meeting the Directorate's expectations. MCCS Employee Development isn't about filling seats; it is about staff attending appropriate training for their jobs. There are many online resources that are free to all NAF and APF employees. Visit the following web sites and review courses offered. Then submit a request to the MCCS Employee Development Department via your Manager and Program Head.

| MCCS Tuition Assistance Program Details |
| ---------------------------------------------------------- |
- WHAT?
MCCS will reimburse tuition fees for one course per term/semester from any accredited institution based upon successful completion of the course. Maximum tuition assistance benefit is currently $300 per calendar year.
- WHO?
ELIGIBILITY: All regular full time and part time employees employed by MCCS Quantico. All flexible employees employed by MCCS Quantico a minimum of 90 days.
- WHY?
We are making a capital investment in our employees to increase:
- Self Confidence
- Improve Job-Specific Competencies
- Qualify Employees for Technical Positions
- Provide Refresher Training
- Improve Customer Service
- COMMITMENT and AGREEMENT
- Employee must submit a completed Tuition Assistance Request form to the MCCS Employee Development office at least one week in advance of the beginning of the course.
- The employee must agree to continue employment for a minimum of 6 months.
- The employee must receive a “C” or higher.
- Upon completion of the course, employee is responsible for submitting a grade report and a paid receipt for the course taken in order to be reimbursed

| Classroom Usage |
| ---------------------------------------------------------- |
- The endorsed form is required for use of the MCCS Employee Development Classroom. The form must be submitted to the MCCS Employee Development Specialists for approval. Date(s), times contact name and telephone number, number of attendees and reason for use is to be included. Upon receiving your letter, the Employee Development Specialists will email you the approval.
- You may check out the key, the morning of your training. If you would like to set up the classroom prior please discuss with the Employee Development Specialists about checking the key out early. Turn in classroom key upon completion of your training. There is no charge for the classroom usage. Hours of availability: 0800-1630 Monday thru Friday. You may reach the Employee Development Specialists at 703.784.3458 or 703.784.3468.
- Please park in the parking lot across the street.
- Telephone usage: Phones are available in the classrooms. The phone numbers are 703.432.0502 (classroom 1) and 703.432.0208 (classroom 2). There is no long distance access. You must dial “99” to get an outside line.
- Smoking is NOT permitted within the building. Smoking facilities are outside in the front of the building. Smoking is not permitted within 50 feet of any egress/door.
- You are responsible for bringing your own coffee supplies. There is a small refrigerator and coffee maker. Please do not use supplies in the refrigerator. There are vending machines available in front of the bowling center. Police your own trash. you are responsible for cleaning the area. You are responsible for any damage and cleaning up of spills. Please ensure the training room is left clean and tidy, to include the dry-erase board.
- Restroom facilities and water fountain are located in the main hallway downstairs.
- There are a few eating facilities convenient for breakfast or lunch. The Clubs of Quantico, Subway and McDonalds are located on base. Harry O’s bakery, Domino’s Pizza, and Sam’s Restaurant are located in Quantico town.
- If there is a need to rearrange the training room to facilitate your needs, please return the room to its original configuration when finished.
- Please do not remove any equipment or resources from the Employee Development Classroom. If you need to use any electronic equipment (laptop, overhead, etc) please state so in your request.
- Cancellations may be done via email to the Employee Development Specialists.

NEW Hire Orientation Process
MCCS Employee Development believes that a trained workforce creates a happy and customer service oriented workforce. We are making changes in the process in which we provide our basic training.
At the time the position is offered the applicant, the Human Resources Generalist will review all initial requirements (i.e. New Employee Orientation, Retail Orientation, Welcome Aboard, ServSafe, etc). Please use the New Hire Checklist. |

- www.quantico.usmc.mil/g6/training: Computer software training. No cost is associated with these classes.
- www.quantico.usmc.mil/safety: Safety training
- www.usalearning.gov: A government-wide resource that supports development of the Federal workforce through simplified and one-stop access to high quality e-Training products and services. The creation of this Center supports the President's Management Agenda (PMA) e-Training Initiative and the Gov Online Learning Center is continually growing with the addition of products, and services and performance support tools that meet critical and government-wide needs of the workforce.
