ATTENTION PATRONS
Lunga Park recreation area will be
CLOSED and OFF-LIMITS until further notice.
During a recent site inspection, 1950s munitions where found
in remote areas of Lunga. While there is no immediate threat to the recreation area or to the campsites, the recreation area closures are to provide a time for clean-up and to reduce any potential risk to the public.
The well-being of base residents and visitors is our number one priority,
We thank you for understanding the importance of public safety,
while we conduct clean-up operations.
Lunga Park Fishing
For great sport fishing, Lunga reservoir has several species of fish. The following varieties can be found:
- Bass
- Bluegill
- Catfish
- Crappie
- Pickerel
- Walleye
- White Perch
- Yellow Perch

Fishing License Requirements
Anglers age 16 and older fishing these waters must have in their possession a Virginia freshwater fishing license per Virginia fishing regulations, available online at www.dgif.virginia.gov/fishing. Anglers ages 16-64, inclusive, must also possess a Marine Corps Base, Quantico fishing license. Quantico fishing license is available at the MCX or Lunga General Store for $10 yearly or $2 five day.
