From late January to mid-May, four stockings of Designated Trout Stocked Waters
on Base will be done in cooperation with the Virginia Department of Game & Inland Fisheries. Designated Trout Stocked Waters consist of a 4.7 mile section of Chopawamsic Creek, marked with signs. Approximately 1,100 rainbow, brown or brook trout are stocked each time.
Fishing dates, times and creel limits established by the Virginia Department of
Game & Inland Fisheries will be enforced. Use of more than one rod or one line by any person is prohibited while fishing in waters stocked with trout. If using an
artificial lure, a treble hook is permitted; otherwise, only a single hook is permitted
on a line.
Trout fishing in the section of middle branch, Chopawamsic Creek, at Secon Pool, marked for underage fishing, will be limited to fishing by persons age 12 and younger. Anyone over the age of 12 caught fishing in these waters may have their fishing privileges suspended for a period of up to one year.
Stocking dates are not announced in advance, but are posted after stocking. Base stocking dates will be posted at http://www.quantico.usmc.mil/g5/nrea/fwa/trout-stocking.htm.
